WordPress Backups

The WordPress Backups page in Varsuite Core allows you to securely back up your WordPress sites on a schedule that suits your needs.

Overview of the Backups Page

As shown in the screenshot above, this page provides a clean interface to configure, run, and manage backups for each connected WordPress site.

Backup Scheduling

At the top left, you’ll find the Set Backup Schedule dropdown.

Options include:

  • Daily

  • Weekly

  • Monthly

  • Disabled (if you prefer to run manual backups only)

Tip: We recommend at least a daily backup schedule for production websites and active client sites.

Initiate a Manual Backup

Use the Initiate Backup button (top right) to manually trigger a backup at any time.

This is especially useful:

  • Before applying core/plugin/theme updates

  • Prior to making structural or design changes

  • As a quick restore point after onboarding

Backups will be scheduled for processing in real time and appear in the list once completed.

Delete Old Backups

Use the Delete Backups button to clear all stored backups for a site. This helps:

  • Free up disk space

  • Clear corrupt or incomplete backups

  • Reset scheduled backup history

Backup List (When Active)

Once backups are active, the list will display:

  • Filename

  • Status (Success, Failed, In Progress)

  • Actions – Options to download, restore, or delete individual backups

In the screenshot above, no backups have yet been created. Once they are, this section will populate with entries and options.

Security & Storage

All backups are securely created through your connected Varsuite Core plugin, ensuring:

  • Data is encrypted and stored safely

  • No third-party services are used without your consent

  • Scheduled backups run automatically with no need to log in to the WordPress admin panel

Troubleshooting

If you see a message like “No backups found, make sure your site is backing up!”:

  • Confirm the plugin is installed and properly synced

  • Check the backup schedule is enabled

  • Review available storage (if limited)

  • Try a manual backup to test functionality
