Alerts & Rules
Alert Rules in Varsuite Core let you define automatic notifications for a wide range of issues from downtime and DNS errors to missing analytics tags or SSL failures.
What You Can Configure

When creating a new alert rule, you’ll be able to customise:
Name
The title of your rule (e.g. “All SSL Checks”)
Event Types
Choose one or more triggers (e.g. downtime, expired domains, backup fails)
Sites
Apply the rule to specific sites or all sites
Destinations
Where alerts are sent (e.g. email, more options coming soon)
Enabled
Toggle the rule on or off
Hold Ctrl
(or Cmd
on Mac) to select multiple options for Events and Sites.
Available Event Triggers
You can trigger alerts for the following situations:
Connection or downtime issues
Performance drops
Core or plugin update failures
User creation/edit/delete errors
Backup or restore problems
Failed scheduled tasks
Health check failures
Domain expired or expiring soon
SSL certificate issues
DNS configuration issues
Lighthouse score decreases
Broken links, sitemap, analytics tag, or mixed content warnings
Alert Delivery
Alerts are currently sent via email, slack & discord. You can enter multiple destinations to ensure the right people are kept in the loop.
Coming soon: Microsoft Teams, and webhook-based destinations.
Example
Let’s say you want to be notified when a scheduled task or backup fails on any of your sites:
Click Create Alert Rule
Name it something like “Critical Task Alerts”
Select:
“Scheduled task failed”
“Backup has failed”
Choose all sites (or just your client sites)
Add your email address
Tick Enable and hit Create
Done. You’ll now receive alerts in real-time whenever those events occur.
Why This Matters
Proactive monitoring is the key to fast response times and better uptime. Alert Rules ensure:
You fix problems before clients notice
Nothing slips through the cracks
Your team gets notified the moment something critical breaks
When combined with our monitoring and backup systems, Alert Rules create a powerful safety net across your entire website fleet.
